Falling Springs in Missouri

These are some of the many pictures we took on 2 different days to Falling Springs. Last month we decided to start finding some of the old grist mills and springs. Falling Springs was the first one we found. It is a beautiful spot. Great place to take pictures. Has an old homestead. The wheel is still there with a waterfall behind the wooden building. Sits on an old gravel road by a graveyard. You can walk around the pond, has a few benches to sit on. Picnic table and grill. Restroom. Located in Oregon County on Hwy. 19 in Alton, Mo. to forest service road 3170. Follow the left fork. This was the first house built at Falling Springs. It is 100 years old and still standing. Falling Spring and mill is located on Hurricane Creek near 11 Point River. The mill was powered by the spring that emerges from the bluff above.
